Cash
Fidelity offers effective management of cash reserves through the Fidelity Institutional Cash Fund (ICF). At Fidelity, cash is managed as an asset class in its own right, and comprises a significant part of our business. Since inception, no Fidelity Aaa rated money market fund has ever failed to preserve capital.
Reserves are managed using our extensive credit and quantitative research procedures. Our approach is conservative with emphasis on preservation of capital, return and access to cash. The portfolio manager is provided with extensive internal credit and quantitative research and has a dedicated money market trading group which enables him/her to focus on making investment decisions.
Securities held in the Fidelity ICF typically include certificates of deposit, commercial paper, deposits, floating rate notes, treasury bills and short-dated bonds.
